[ Whenever Eli deigns to show up, Atsuhide is cleaning up the kitchen. He has a smudge of flour on his face when he opens the door. ]

[The trek to Water's Edge is a long one, since Eli lives outside of the barrier on the complete opposite side of town. Why couldn't Ko have moved closer, or at least not farther away? Making Eli work hard for the pussy, the bastard. He takes the railcars so he doesn't have to worry about his bike tires getting gummed up with snow. He doesn't mind the cold, though. It doesn't affect him at all anymore.

So about an hour later, here he is, a tiny shadowy man in your doorway, well-dressed as always.]

[He steps inside, and immediately feels a little out of place. He's gotten so used to roughing it outdoors in his shitty cabin and embracing his undead soul that being in such a cozy, homey place feels strange. He likes it, though.]

[Eli touches the part of his own face where the flour is on Atsuhide's.]

[ Atsuhide steps back as Eli comes in. He might detect some movement on the other side of the living room, behind the couch. ]

Hey, man. Don't mind the foster rabbits.

[ Right. Fosters. Definitely not permanent pets that Ko has no intention of letting go.

He wipes at his face with his thumb; he's always been kind of messy when making soba. ]

Thanks. Ko's the decorating type, I guess. I think our aesthetics kind of clash.

[ He gestures towards the low coffee table in front of the couch, where there's food already waiting. There's a little tension in Atsuhide as he moves about the apartment, but it's no more than usual.

No air of awkwardness, but rather that he's getting the pleasantries out of the way before anything else.

Atsuhide speaks as he goes to the kitchen, grabbing something out of the fridge. Beer that he sets down on the coffee table. He comes to sit on the floor in front of it. ]

I made soba and tempura. Dunno if you're familiar, but I had to hunt for these ingredients, so have a seat. I tend to cook a bit much whenever I gotta have a talk with someone.

[Eli peers around and, as a hunter, does notice the telltale twitch of prey. Interesting...

He snorts.]

[Atsuhide's style is similar to his own, edgy. This place is soft and natural and green. It definitely doesn't seem like what Atsuhide or Eli would choose, but he can't deny it's tasteful, peaceful to be in here.]

Oooh... Smells good.

[Eli moves to sit on the floor across from Atsuhide, clearly pleased by all the food and especially the beer. He opens it and has a swig right away.]

Gods, you're making it seem like you're going to ask for a divorce or make a huge business deal or something.
