[Smart enough strategy, though Eli still thinks it's blown a bit out of proportion.

As the other man seems to say some kind of grace, Eli says nothing, but eagerly goes to pick up his... Oh, what are these sticks? He watches Atsuhide use the chopsticks, curious, then picks them up. He tries to figure out how to hold them, but it's a bit confusing.

Hearing the man I dedicated my life to said about a man he has fucked and taken quite a liking to in a short time feels... Odd. Not quite jealousy or irritation, but adjacent. He knows he has no place to feel that way, but things are weird and undefined with the three of them, and that makes him a little insecure.

He shrugs with a flat expression, showing absolutely none of those thoughts or feelings in his body language.]

I'm not mad at you. Like I said, you didn't have to make a whole show of apologizing. But I do think we should talk about Ko.

[ Atsuhide then wordlessly demonstrates how to hold the chopsticks and move them. ]

Like this. I won't judge if you use the fork, either.

[ Thoughtfully, he considers where to start with Ko. Eli doesn't know their history, and similarly, Atsuhide doesn't know what they've been through together here. It feels a bit nosy and strange to talk about him like this, but it's also true that Ko is the most important person alive to Atsuhide. ]

He and I just have kept one another in line for ten years or something like that. I'd be dead without him, with my head cleaved in half in a snowbank.

[ Then he points to the scar on his face. ]

[He squints at the chopstick demonstration and tries it himself. He's great with his hands, but this is brand new to him, so he tries to pick up a piece of tempura and drops it a couple of times. He huffs, frustrated because he just wants to eat, and picks up the fork.]

I'll try again when I'm less hungry.

[Not that hungry is the word for it, exactly. He has little need for people-food anymore, but he does still enjoy it.

He takes a bite, humming his approval.]

Yeah, he said he... Turned you?

[ His lip quirks up in an almost-grin when Eli seems to like the tempura. Then he points to the strip of necrotic skin across his forehead, just at the hairline, topping the vertical scar like a T. ]

Yeah. This is my dead point, or the proof he turned me. Like his hand, but he was born with his.

[ He searches, it seems, for a few moments. How much to tell him? ]

We've both... We've all had to stay 'on' for years and years at this point. He's very much a public figure, and the rest of us are, too, by virtue of being in his flock. So... I hope that makes more sense. Lots of pressure on all of us back home.

How'd you two meet here?

[Eli looks curiously at the scar, tilting his head as he chews. It's a cool scar.]

Honestly, it's all sort of hard for me to wrap my head around, since your world is so different from mine. [He shrugs.] But like, yeah. Someone saves your life, you're gonna feel bonded to them. [Maybe idolize them a bit, with all that "god" stuff. Ko had explained that to him, but he still thinks it's pretty insane that he's worshipped. To Eli, Ko is literally just a guy. A very hot and cool guy, but in no way close to a god.

He eagerly stabs another bite of tempura and chews for a moment.]

We met doing a photoshoot for wedding attire. We got paired up to act as a couple, we both got pretty into said acting, and it was really fun. [He grins a bit.] Way more trivial than your story. [But maybe that's Eli's role for Ko. Atsuhide keeps him grounded, as Ko described, and Eli helps him relax and let loose, have fun.]
